The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources is proposing new and updated energy efficiency standards for residential windows and gas boilers.
Public review and stakeholder consultation will be open for six weeks, ending October 4, 2019. Stakeholder consultation will be followed by regulatory drafting and submission of the regulatory proposal to Cabinet for approval.
The proposed updated standard for residential windows is a U-Value < 1.61 W/(m2-K) for products manufactured and sold after January 1, 2022. Detailed information on the proposal can be found in the Regulatory Impact Statement.
The proposed standard for residential boilers is an AFUE > 90% for products manufactured and sold after January 1, 2022. Detailed information on the proposal can be found in the Regulatory Impact Statement.
